Dr. Evgeniy Ivanov

About me

Dr. Evgeniy (Gene) Ivanov's professional story brings together a diverse background in program and project management, critical thinking, and strategic analysis and concept development. He previously served as Deputy Branch Head for Transformation at the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response Center of Excellence and as a Strategic Concept Developer at NATO Allied Command Transformation. His professional expertise lies in applying conceptual and critical thinking to complex problems. Dr. Ivanov writes on a broad range of topics, including leadership, civil-military relations, strategic planning, conceptual thinking, business intelligence, and operational analysis. Currently, he serves as the Research and Analysis Manager for the Virginia Beach Fire Department, VA, where he applies his diverse professional background to strengthen local government and the fire service in particular. He is the author of the dialogue series Conceptual Meditations with Protagon & Antagon, which offers insights and reflections on key concepts and topics through two perspectives that compete yet complement one another.
